Frequently Asked Questions

Will earning my degree in this master's program mean that I also become National Board Certified?

Do I still need to apply and pay a fee to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards to become certified if I am in this master's program?

Do I have to apply for National Board Certification in order to participate in this master's program?

I am a pre-candidate.  Do I still need to do the entire portfolio for my thesis/capstone project?

If my portfolio does not pass for National Board Certification, will I still earn my degree?


Why should I consider a master's degree program that incorporates the National Board Certification process?
