Continuing Education Opportunities (CEUs/Salary Credit)
Teachers who do not need a masters degree can earn continuing education units (CEUs) by
taking one or more of the five specialized National Board (NBC)
courses. These courses provide a powerful foundation for completing the
portfolio, and also helps you keep on track by providing timelines and
structures. Each courses aligns with an important element of the
portfolio process, and final projects for each course result in the
completion of all or part of a portfolio entry. These courses are
taught by National Board Certified Teachers who are also NBPTS-trained
Candidate Support Providers. They will guide you through the process,
and provide quality feedback on your portfolio entries.
The courses are $515 each and include:

- June, July or August: NBC 1201X--Quality Teaching and Learning: This course introduces you to the National Board portfolio process
- September: NBC 681--Membership in Learning Communities: This course helps you complete portfolio entry 4
- October: NBC 682--Videotape Analysis: This course supports the development of your video-based portfolio entries
- January: NBC 683--Student Work and Assessments: This course supports the development of your student assessment entry
- March: NBC 639--Leadership Portfolio: This course helps you refine and organize your final portfolio
