Attention California Teachers: Do you want to earn a secondary credential but don’t want to take the C-SET?

Did you know that if you are National Board Certified in a secondary core area such as math or science, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing will grant you a professional clear credential without taking the C-SET?

For example, the holder of a Multiple Subject Credential in California may earn a Single Subject Credential in Mathematics based on earning NBPTS certification in Early Adolescence or Adolescence through Young Adulthood math.  The holder of a single subject credential may earn a secondary Multiple Subject Credential based on National Board Certification as an  Early Childhood Generalist or Middle Childhood Generalist.

Go to http://www.ctc.ca.gov/notices/coded/2012/1202.pdf for details on this new bill (Senate Bill 941).
